General Assistance applications are available during regular business hours at the Town Office. In an emergency you can contact the General Assistance Administrator. Please contact chair of the Select Board if you’re unable to reach GA administrator.
A copy of the town of New Sharon’s General Assistance ordinance can be provided to you upon request at this office during regular business hours or by clicking here.
General Assistance applications must be reviewed and a written decision determined within 24 hours of the application date.
Violations of this process can be reported to the Department of Health and Human Services at 1-800-442-6003.
