The Board of Selectmen donated the old chaise to the Farmington Fairgrounds, rescuing it from storage in the old Fire Station on Main Street in the fall of 2021. The carraige had been stored for nearly 25 years and deteriorated a great deal. It was in such disrepair that (after much discussion and research) working with the former president of the dissolved Historical Society, the decision was made to donate to an organization that had the resources to repair and preserve the carriage and to put it on display for all to enjoy.

We have included some of the history of the chaise which came to New Sharon with it's owner who unfortunately died soon after moving to New Sharon in his later years.
