Snow Removal Services Contract

The Selectman of the Town of New Sharon are seeking bids for the plowing and sanding of approximately 43 miles of town roads.  Bids to be on a per mile basis.  The successful bidder may be subject to drug screening as a condition of employment.  Sample contract and specifications are available upon request at the Selectmen’s Office or by email.  Bids with proposal must be received by 5:00pm June 14, 2021.  The Selectmen reserve the right to reject any or all bids. Properties for Sale by Sealed Bid

The Board of Selectmen of the Town of New Sharon, Maine is accepting bids for the purchase of the municipality’s interest in two (2) properties.

  • Each bid must be in writing and in a sealed envelope marked “Property Sale Bid” on the outside of the envelope.

  • Each bid shall be for one property only.

  • Any person wishing to bid on several properties must submit a separate bid for each one.

  • Each bid must also include the bidder’s name, mailing address and phone number and must be accompanied by a Bank Treasurer’s Check made payable to ”Town of New Sharon, Maine” in the amount of at least 10% of the listed minimum bid price as a deposit for the bid.

  • Each successful bidder’s deposit will be credited to the total purchase price for that parcel.

  • Deposit checks will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders.

  • Any bid that does not contain the proper deposit will be rejected.

  • Submit bids to Board of Selectmen, Town of New Sharon, P.O. Box 7, 11 School Lane, New Sharon, ME 04955.


The Board of Selectmen must receive all bids no later than 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the New Sharon Town Office. Late, faxed or emailed bids will not be opened or considered.

Bids will be opened, read aloud at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the New Sharon Town Office. The Board of Selectmen will review and either award or reject all bids at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15 at their Selectmen’s Meeting located at New Sharon Town Office. The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to reject any and / or all bids.

Each successful bidder shall have 15 days from the date of bid acceptance to complete the purchase at the discretion of the Board of Selectmen. Each property will be conveyed by a quitclaim deed without covenants. The person issued a quitclaim deed is solely responsible to evict tenants and or former owners from the property.

In the event that a successful bidder fails, for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void and the bidder’s deposit shall be forfeited to the Town. The Board of Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any or all-unsuccessful bidders.
